About This Site

The Craft Supply List is written for people who make things at the kitchen table or in a spare-room craft corner. We cover the tools that change how a hobby feels to do: cutting machines, home sewing machines, paper trimmers, alcohol markers and jewelry making kits. Every guide is written from real time at the table, with plain notes on what a tool handles well, where it struggles, and who it suits.

Craft Safety

Craft tools are sharp, hot or fast, and most injuries at the hobby table come from a moment of hurry. Rotary and bypass paper trimmer blades and cutting machine blades can cut skin as easily as cardstock: keep fingers clear of the cutting path, lower trimmer arms and blade guards after every cut, change blades with the tool unplugged, and store spare blades out of reach of children.

Sewing machines move a needle many times a second. Keep fingers away from the presser foot area while the machine runs, switch it off before threading or changing a needle or foot, and never sew over pins. Unplug any electric tool before cleaning or clearing a jam.

Alcohol markers, adhesives and some paints release vapors. Work with a window open or a fan moving air, keep caps on when not in use, and keep them away from open flame. Jewelry kits contain small beads, crimps and wire ends that are a choking hazard for young children and pets, and cut wire can fly, so wear eye protection when snipping. Product guidance here is general information, not professional safety advice; always follow the manufacturer's instructions for your specific tool.
